St. Anthony School for Children with Complex Disabilities

Accessing support from the Diverse Learning team usually begins with the school’s School Resource Team (SRT). Support may include consultation, specialized assessment, learner support plan development, special education class placement or access to health-related services. Specialized supports offers include programs related to cognitive disabilities, congregated complex needs, congregated gifted, emotional & behavioural disabilities, and learning enhancements & development.

St. Anthony School offers a specialized placement that supports students in Grades 1 to 12 who are diagnosed with a variety of complex conditions, however, most students have a diagnosis of Level 3 autism paired with something else. Students develop communication, regulation and social-interaction skills and their needs dictate adaption and modifications to the school day. Students are accepted at St. Anthony through district consultation.

If your child was born outside Canada, register them for school through the Calgary Catholic School District (CSSD) through the St. John Reception Centre located at 15 - 12 Street NW, Calgary, AB. Interpreter services are available upon request at no cost to the family.
