Come one, come all! Achievers camp offers participants a variety of experiences that will teach them about adaptive sports, inclusion, and imaginative play. Our Achievers camp is soley reserved for campers with physical disabilities and supported by Calgary Adapted Hub powered by Jumpstart. Free to attend.

Offers a variety of summer camps for children and youth. Accommodations are available to registered campers with documented conditions who face barriers in the camp environment: Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorders (ADHD) and Cognitive and developmental disabilities. If your camper receives support at school/home then an Aide/Support worker is strongly recommended to participate in the program/camp.

Free recreational program. The CAPA program will pair student volunteers one-on-one with children who are experiencing disability (of any type: physical, sensory, developmental, and/or intellectual), ages 4-12 years. Activities will include organized games and sports, obstacle courses, craft-making, and story-telling in both the gym and swimming pool settings.

H2Able is a one-on-one adapted swimming lesson program that provides critical life skills for those with disabilities in aquatic emergency situations. The goal of the program is to gain confidence and comfort in the aquatic environment and to learn aquatic survival skills while having fun.

Students in MRU's Inclusive Post-Secondary Education are enrolled in a variety of programs of study throughout the University, and we work to expand those programs of study based on the interest of each individual student. Students are encouraged and supported to connect with their classmates, get involved in various on-campus extra-curricular activities and events, and to pursue interest specific practicum and work opportunities. Families can post a respite ad on the Mount Royal University Job Board for students and graduates that may be looking for respite work. You will have to click 'Register' under the 'Employers' tab to create an account. Kindly note that it is recommended to enter the Organization Name as “Private Home”. The Career Service Department will email you with the necessary guidelines to post an ad to approve your registration.

Services are available to Mount Royal students who provide documentation of the following types of disability: Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorders, Chronic health issues, Deafness or hard of hearing, Head injuries, Learning disabilities, Mental health issues, Mobility impairments, Physical disabilities, Visual impairments/blindness, and Temporary impairments due to accident, illness or injury.

Since 1980, the Transitional Vocational Program at Mount Royal University has been providing a variety of post-secondary programs to adults with developmental disabilities. The Employment Preparation Certificate program was also established in 1980 and has, with continuous development, evaluation and change, supported students to find and maintain competitive employment. The Transitional Vocational Program also offers part-time studies. Courses include Functional Literacy and Math; Computers, Tablets and Smartphones; Learner's Licence Test Preparation; Life Skills; Introduction to Computer Coding; Graphic Design; Basic Living Skills; Personal Safety; Understanding the World Today; The Wonderful World of Music; Standard First Aid (accommodated), and Eating Right, Living Right.
