Supportive Communities: Strengthening Families
Supportive Communities: Strengthening Families (SCSF) is assisting families to develop a vision for an inclusive life in the community and exploring innovative ways to increase community inclusion for children and youth (0-17) with developmental disabilities.

Family Leadership Workshops
Inclusion Alberta’s annual Family Leadership Series consists of five weekends over eight months and is designed for families, parents, siblings and other family members, and individuals with developmental disabilities who are committed to community inclusion, want to deepen their understanding of inclusion and be part of a movement creating change.

A Guide on Using Family Managed Supports (FMS) to Support an Inclusive Life
Family Managed Services (FMS) is a funding option that enables families to hire and direct their own staff to support a family member with developmental disabilities to live a full life in community. The Alberta Government’s Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) program provides this funding for people with developmental disabilities. This guide shares some of the knowledge experienced families have gained from their use of FMS to support rich, meaningful lives.

The Darrell Cook Family Managed Supports Resource Centre and the Inclusion Alberta Family Resource Centre – Grande Prairie have developed an online tool for connecting families with potential staff. The staff directory is a list of potential staff in Calgary, Cochrane, Canmore, Banff, Airdrie, High River, Okotoks, Grande Prairie and surrounding rural areas.
