What is AADL?

Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL) is a Government of Alberta program that provides basic equipment and supplies to Albertans with a long-term disability, chronic or terminal illness.

 

AADL Policies

  • You are an Alberta resident with a valid Alberta Health Care Card.
  • You require assistance due to a long-term disability, chronic illness, or terminal illness.
  • You have been assessed by an AADL-authorized healthcare professional to determine your eligibility for the program.
  • You must buy supplies from an approved AADL vendor.

What supplies are offered through AADL?

Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL) covers a wide range of supplies. Here are some examples of supplies commonly offered through AADL:

  • bathing and toileting equipment
  • hearing aids and FM devices
  • homecare beds and accessories
  • incontinence supplies (diapers and catheters)
  • musculoskeletal supports
  • orthotic braces
  • oxygen / respiratory equipment
  • patient lifters
  • prosthetic devices
  • specialized pediatric equipment
  • speech-generating communication devices
  • walkers and walking aids
  • wheelchairs and accessories
  • vision aids
