There are a variety of options for summer camps in the community that you may wish to explore.

Summer Camp Options

The summer months are a great opportunity for the kids to attend a camp to get outside, make friends, develop new skills, and go on exciting adventures!

There are many options for summer camps in the community for your child with a disability that you may wish to explore.

These options include:

specialized camps
overnight camps
community day camps
city camp programs.

FSCD Camp Information

If you have a Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) agreement, FSCD may cover a portion of the cost of some specialized camps or give you community aide hours for an aide to attend a camp with your child. You will need to reach out to your FSCD worker to inquire to see if this is a possibility.

Achievers Camp for Youth with Physical Disabilities

Come one, come all! Achievers camp offers participants a variety of experiences that will teach them about adaptive sports, inclusion, and imaginative play. Our Achievers camp is soley reserved for campers with physical disabilities and supported by Calgary Adapted Hub powered by Jumpstart. Free to attend.

Amicus Camps & Recreation

Camp Amicus and Recreation Programs provide fun, experiential education programs focused on social skill development for children and teens with Learning Disabilities and/or ADHD ages 8-18. Summer camps include overnight and day camp options.

Camp Bonadventure

Between Friends Camp Bonaventure is a fun outdoor summer day camp for youth ages 4-17. Each summer at Camp Bonaventure is full of excitement, friendship, and fun! Campers experience positive social interactions while engaging in fun outdoor camp activities.

Easter Seals Alberta’s Camp Horizon provides individuals with disabilities and medical conditions with life-changing outdoor overnight camp experiences. Camp offers a unique opportunity for campers to build self-esteem and independence. Activities challenge their mind and body, while creating lasting friendships and life long memories.

Inclusive Summer Camps for Children and Preschoolers

Trico Centre offers a wide variety of sport, nature, science, and other themed camps. They work with an Inclusion Facilitator who is available as a support to all leaders/campers Monday through Friday (all summer!). If a child benefits from additional 1-on-1 support, a caregiver and/or aide is asked to attend.

Speech and Language Summer Camps

Our camps are designed to provide intensive intervention to assist children with communication development during the summer months. Each camper will participate in both small and large group activities designed to improve communication, attention, social interaction, fine and gross motor skills.

Summer Camp for Children with Cerebral Palsy and Physical Disabilities

Our camp is uniquely designed for kids with cerebral palsy and similar neuromotor and physical disabilities. Camps consist of different on-site activities, as well as trips to off-site locations. Each camper is paired with a member of our camp staff to provide support and personal care.

Swim Camps for Children with Neurological and Developmental Disabilities

JKS camps are low ratio small group week long sessions. We run in a max 3:1 child to instructor ratio. We are not a 1:1 camp. If your your child requires 1:1 please phone to discuss possible options if you are interested in camp for your child. (We do allow aides to attend camp with campers). Participants swim everyday and other activities include: rock climbing, trampoline park, hiking, paddle boarding, canoeing, field and sports games, and luge.
