What is FSCD?
The Government of Alberta's Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) program provides support and services to families with children with disabilities who meet eligibility criteria.
Who qualifies for FSCD support?
- The child with a disability must be under the age of 18.
- The person applying for the program must be the child's parent or have guardianship of the child.
- The child must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
- The child and the parent or guardian must reside in Alberta.

What does FSCD provide?
FSCD provides support services based on the needs of the family and the needs of the child related to the diagnosis/disability. Below are examples of some of the services that may be funded, upon approval, through the FSCD program.
Family Focused Supports:
- Information, referral, and advocacy
- Family and individual counselling
- Parking fee coverage for disability-related appointments
- Respite
- Triple P
Child Focused Supports:
- Child care supports
- Aide supports
- Health-related supports
- Specialized services
- Respite services
- Out-of-home living arrangements
